[SAAPE Network] BNPS’s event with MPs on NAP WPS
As one of the initial proponents for the women, peace and security agenda, the Government of Bangladesh developed and launched the National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security (NAP WPS) in November 2019 to implement the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325.
It remains an agenda to be widely explored in the context of Bangladesh to develop the leadership capacity of both female and male MPs on WPS issue is of utmost importance to ensure that NAP WPS is implemented effectively. On this background Bangladesh Nari Progati Sangha (BNPS) with the support of UN Women organized an orientation on November 09, 2022 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) to identify the spaces and strategies for MPs to accelerate localization of WPS agenda for advancing women’s participation in promoting peace and prevent conflict.
